Schlagwort-Archive: Album

CHROMADADATA – KRAYT DIGGZ

Nice loopy hip hop beats from St. Augustine/ Florida made by Ian Jones aka CHROMADA DATA on Krayt Diggz. He kicks it badass, just boom-bip + heavy samples, some of the sources are well known. But who cares as long as they do what they were made for – letting you have a good time nodding your head to.

Enjoy!

MD – ELECTRIC SKY

Yeah, underground’s not dead – it’s alive! Beatsmith collective Tape Death from North York, Australia gives you an aural ass-whooping not only with this release.

Listen to MD and his space funk lightning thunder coming from an Electric Sky to elecrify your ear bones with thick kicks and lovely crunchy snares, fresh bass and extraterrestrial synths. Instrumentation, production, mixing and mastering were entirely done by MD plus „No sample loops – made entirely from one-shot drums & synths.“

Enjoy!

MUTE SPEAKER – POST BLOCK

MUTE SPEAKER left a positive impression with last year’s first full lenght album „Smart Bomb“.
Since then, Rob O’Hara seems to have gone through a process, that now with his second full lenght release allows him to walk and mark new musical territories.
His latest excursions will lead the listeners from omnipresent hip hop (with MCing) to dub and, at least surprising for me, to r’n’b tracks. At first listen I was like: wtf? But as I gave it a second try, I even got into that.
I must admit, I’m the more strictly beats type guy, but some cuts have a voice to it for a reason. So don’t be shy, give it a try.
Favorite cuts: Freezer Burn – ft. Joel St.Julien and Launch Code
Enjoy!

Rubber Beats Vol. III

East Flanders represent through Caoutchou Records latest release.

Rubber Beats Vol. III is packed with familiar artists, some artist you might have heard of, but half of them guys seem unknown to the scene, unless you are  an internet fiend and spent your days and nights stalking muthafuckers, which I hope you don’t do.

The mixture of ambient, dubstep, 8-bit game fun, hip hop flavored future beats and some serious deep shit offers sounds for each of your dark desires and  even might fill a gap in your collection of unheard ideas.

My favorite tunes were done by Anders Walldén, Ninjato and Lunz. Which are your’s?

To find an answer, listen and

enjoy!

HIMURO YOSHITERU – OUR TURN ANYTIME

Fresh out the box HIMURO YOSHITERU from Tokyo/Japan is chopping it up samurai-style. The best release I heard since the year turned 2012.

He’s dropping a heavy 17-track album going by the name of Our Turn, Anytime, giving an impressive insight in how multifaceted music is and can be. Heavy bass, hip hop sample mastery and even tracks reminding me of some older jazzy work of Amon Tobin make it a fun-to-listen-to album.

But listen for yourselves.

Enjoy!

HASHFINGER – November.11

Another free release by HASHFINGER worth checking out. Smooth jazz- and exotica-type loops over fine boom-bap kicks and snares. Butter!

Enjoy!

NEGROSAKI – ((TRUTHFINDER))

NEGROSAKI did it, his official rap debut is out now. His album ((TruthFinder)) is filled with trippy spaced-out but at the same time laid-back hip hop beats.

And those people who are either truth finders or truth seekers, NegroSaki does this especially for you. His mission, as he states, is to inform people, to give ‚em insight to his view on what’s going on in the world right at the moment and to even „…clear some misconceptions that the world has about… [his]… faith“. It’s a quite political and spiritual approach to nowaday’s topics.

Have a listen for yourselves and

Enjoy!

HARRY JEN – Random Beats EP

Wow, just got added on soundcloud by this nice group of musicians, I never heard of before.

As often in past times, again it’s quality work from Austria, to be specific from Linz.

The eight-man-band HARRY JEN showcases a broad spectrum of musical genres on their Random Beats EP, such as Jazz, Funk, Electronics and futuristic beats.

And I’d say they undoubtedly are influenced by Matthew Herbert. But there’s so much more in here. Listen for yourselves.

Enjoy!

AARONMAXWELL – MY NEW TAPE

AARONMAXWELL dropped another handful of tracks, exploring microscopic landscapes of arcade sounds, matched with bass and glitches.

The tracks are rather short and seemingly are put together to simply give you an insight of what might come in the future.

Til then

enjoy!
